Welcome to the cooking pot! We'll help you whip up a new character in no time!
First off, thank you for your interest in WSV! There are a couple things to note when creating your starting character:
Starting characters are decidedly ordinary. This means they do not have any unique/shop traits from the get-go and should not have these traits listed in their bio
Starting characters must be (at minimum) Young Adult or older. Pups/Juveniles are dependant on an adult guardian which cannot be guaranteed for your first character
Starting characters MUST start within a faction
"Valleyfolk" is another term for Wolf, you can use "Valleyfolk" or "Wolf" interchangeably on your written application.
Applications are judged by written quality, artistic strength is not a requirement for participation in WSV.
Valleyfolk come in a wide variety of coat colours, however pelts must remain natural/semi-realistic, in essence, no Sparkle Dogs </3
Valleyfolk are not domesticated and should not have markings that are exclusively found on domestic dogs or other animals
i.e. Merle, Piebald, Brindle, Dalmatian Spots, Socks/Stockings, Zebra Stripes, Leopard Spots, etc.
Markings must be primarily symmetrical on the body
"Cutie marks" are not allowed within WSV
A "Cutie Mark" is a marking that looks like (and is recognizable as) another silhouette
i.e. stars, hearts, crescents, etc.
Acceptable/Common eye colours within the valley include: Gold, Amber, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Grey, Hazel, Brown, Red/Pink
Small tweaks to your character's design are allowed as long as your character is still recognizable! If in doubt, please submit a character ticket in the Discord server!
Individual scarring/injury should not take up more than 30% of the body. While within a fantasy setting, there are fewer means for Valleyfolk to mend large wounds without human intervention (and alas, there are no humans)
Missing limbs from injury that are larger than an ear are not possible in WSV's setting
WSV is a group that focuses on storytelling and roleplay! We accept commissioned work for your character's application sheet ONLY.
Commissioned application art must be "one-of-a-kind"
Free to Use (F2U) or Pay to Use (P2U) bases of any kind are NOT allowed
AI Generated images are NOT allowed
Artwork must be created for YOUR use and acquired for this purpose.
A template for the written portion of the application can be found HERE
Please make a copy by going to File > Make a Copy
Offensive/Insensitive names will be denied
Character names MUST be unique, no two characters can have the same name at the same time
Characters claim ownership over their PRIMARY NAME (the name displayed on the Application Sheet) and cannot claim ownership over pet names/nicknames
Character names cannot have a "First name" and "Last name"

While there's no need to include exact ages in your character application (time is a blur), the TIMELINE can be a useful resource
Please include one of the following on your app:
Pup (0-6 months) > Age up in 2 in-game seasons
Adolescent/Juvenile (7-12 months) > Age up in 2 in-game seasons
Young Adult (1-3 years) > Aging up not required, but encouraged
Adult (3-8 years)
Elder (8+ years)
All character heights must be within the following range (unless Gigantism or Dwarfism is purchased). If in the case of pups/juveniles please list their height as an ADULT. Valleyfolk reach their full height at Young Adulthood.
25-34 inches | 64-89 cm
Because we hate math, please use a written description to describe your character's "weight"
i.e. Merlin is a gaunt ghost of a Valleyfolk, standing on rickety legs and dusty paws.
In this section, tell us who your character is and how they behave. Please include a variety of positive & negative traits!
If describing mental illness, please be respectful and do not use them as the sole means to define your character. Additionally, please refrain from using medical terms in the world of WSV.
We require at minimum 200 words and at maximum 800 words.
This is the place to tell your character's story - whether they started in the valley or far from it. Please feel free to consult the group TIMELINE for events that your character may have experienced
We require at minimum 200 words and at maximum 1500 words.
All players have a cap of 20 active characters across the entire group.
Characters that are retired will reduce the number of active characters you have.
Your currently active characters MUST be marked safe for activity before being allowed to create a new character
No new characters will be permitted during the last week of a season.
"Fan Characters" are prohibited
Characters can have inspiration from different media sources but should not be direct copies
Darker themes require a Character Related Ticket before character submission
Returning a character to active play is a very similar process to creating a brand new character!
Be sure to include additions to their backstory describing where they've been/why they are back
If your character was retired, their previous Chime count will be reinstated
If your character was inactive, you must wait 6 months before the inactive character can be brought back into active gameplay
Their previous chime count will not be reinstated and will instead start with 2 Chimes
When submitting your new character, please navigate to the #tickets channel and create a new character ticket, fill out the following form and staff will get back to you asap!
