Tyrant Shael, prior Ard-Ri Padraig and current Ard-Ri Macgyver
Before Records - Creation;
It is believed that Eirmuir began alongside the downfall of the ancients whose deaths brought life to the Valley. Being that there is not a single soul alive able to reiterate the true roots of the clan, they simply believe that Eirmuirs creation began with the first rolling wave of the ocean.
First Records
The first Ard-Ri Naus, began the tradition of Sea Burials after his mate, Queen Tia died bearing their children and her favourite place was the ocean. This is considered to be older than records.
Eirmuir begins to be haunted by a rolling seafog, at first there is no concerns about the strange fog but when Valleyfolk are found to have been lured away by sea whispers - the Clan records deaths and disappearances around the fog rolling in.
Old tales of sea beasts hunting Eirmuirians are learned to be true, dating back over 20 years after one of the Alpha pair, Ard-Ri Jae and Banrion Olas' children - Orpheus gets killed beneath the waves.
7 Years prior to Game Start - Shatterfang
The Clan finds themselves to be the victims of mass water attacks by one of the sea beasts that haunts their waters, known as Shatterfang. A large, seal like beast with sea moss growing on his body, narrow haunting eyes and glowing spots. His age is unknown, spoken to have been alive since the Clans creation that or having had been born into a lineage as old as the Clan itself, either way, his presence became notedly known after he killed several Eirmuirians hunting under the water.
With Eirmuir relying on the water for most of their diet, as well as herbs that linger beneath the waves, this situation became stressful until the rise of Ard-Ri Padraig. Who learned that there were Ogham Stones beneath the water, and that they would remain close to the Stones when fishing, diving or collecting herbs to remain safe.
6 Years prior to Game Start - War with Gaelkin
Desperation from Goldenwind, caused by their lands desertification forced the Faction to be driven to extreme measures and resulted in chasing Gaelkin out of their ancestorial lands. The other coastal Clan was left in the barren thin strip of land, rocky, inhabitable between Eirmuir and the now large terrain of Goldenwind.
This in turn, caused Gaelkin and Eirmuir to begin their long war of 3 years.
Two generations of Valleyfolk on either side were born into the war, which ended after Gaelkins' Deathmaw Jael was killed in an honourable fight by Ard-Ri Padraig. Though having previously been at war, Jael was buried in the only earthly patch of land near Eirmuirs' land, out of respect for the dead despite of the war. The Deathmaw was put into an undeserved situation, where he only wished to protect his Clan from further destruction.
Only for his death to lead to the shattering of Gaelkin, and the Clan disappearing into the fog as the remaining Clan Members either faded into the night or joined the remaining three factions.
NOTE - A joint timeline between Eirmuir, Goldenwind and Gaelkin is currently in the works to help people from all 3 [even the dead faction] be more informed! That will drop in July!
4.5 Years prior to Game Start - Period of Cruelty;
However, Eirmuirs peace would not last even some months. For an outsider, Shael, would inflitrate the now exhausted Clan and unrightly rise to power.
After killing Ard-Ri Padraig in Dishonourable fight, the Tyrant Shael took over as leader. Shael forbid the customs of Eirmuir that were cherished to be practiced, on top of spiritual and religious practices were also outlawed within the Clan. Those who were not apart of his main circle, his trusted, were forbidden from hunting and in turn, the Clan was starved for the three years that he reigned. Tyrant Shael did this to ensure that no one would be strong enough to fight him, nor be in the prime health to be able to overpower him and remove him from his head of position.
But one thing that Shael did not expect, was the return of the fleet of Eirmuirians outside of the Territory, who then became the liberation fleet that freed the Clan from his clutches upon his death.
Tyrant Shael was slain by Seastone Marshal Macgyver, as well as one of Shaels' own past trusted advisors and a new period for Eirmuir began.
1.5 Years Prior to Game Start - Regrowth;
Being that Macgyver was quite young upon his gaining of Cheiftain status just having reached his third year, many older Valleyfolk, whether born of the Clan or having joined after were somewhat unsure of how he would lead. Though he had proven himself as worthy by stepping up, his age still brough his leadership into doubt.
But the new Ard-Ri proved himself to many, by focusing on the overall health of the Clan first over anything else. As well as that, he showed genuine goodwill and consideration for the Gaelkins who found their way back to Eirmuir after having been dispersed for three years. Though many of Shaels' closely trusted had departed the land upon the Tyrants death whether they had been chased out by the liberation fleet or had chosen to leave, there were several who remained.
One being the most notable, having priorly been second in command, and having been the Valleyfolk who had helped remove Shael both from power and from life. Macgyver chosing to allow some of these folk to remain, did cause issues initally but after open dicussions with the Clan and allowing them to have to prove themselves and being dedicated to the clan not just the leader - more were open for them to remain.
6 Months into Story, July - December 2024 - Game Start, The Return of Shatterfang;
It is with the heavy burden of being Chief, that reality truly has weighed against Macgyver. The return of Shatterfang, in turn with the disappearance of three Clan members; Sheza, Calliope and Daemon as well as learning from Tideripper Odhrán, that there is a large Sea Burial caused by Shael having disregarded bodies of Eirmuirians while he reigned into the sea. But without sea burials, their souls are said to be lost, wandering the planes between the Fade and The Eternal Hunt. Trapped.
Not only had three Clan Members disappeared around Shatterfangs' return, but the father of the youngest member in Eirmuir, Morgan had been killed by the beast. Her father was buried inland, as a stranger not apart of the Clan he was still given respect of being something with a soul who deserved a resting place.
Announcing to the Clan, that Shatterfang had returned, the Chief formed exploration parties as well as listening to worries and their anger of not being informed of his existence prior. It was a failure of his, one that he aimed to make up for.
The Ard-Ri and the Clan head out, in hopes of recording where the beast lies.
January - September, 2025 - Greymoor
Unknown danger washes across Eirmuirs' lands upon the return of Shatterfang, with this discoveries of old Tunnels are found by parties searching for clues and answers. The decision to venture into the Tunnels is declared, the Clan ventures together as one.
In the tunnels, they find an unknown dangerous beast later labelled as the Withered. Unfortunately, the life of Blackfang Marshal Ezra is lost as he sacrifices himself to save the rest of the Clan from harm. With this, the cavern collapses as the beast escaped causing the majority of the Clan to be washed out of the sea tunnels while Macgyver, Onyx and Siren remained trapped inside.
As the trio explore further into the deranged tunnels, it becomes clear, upon stumbling across Shaels' own personal Chamber - the Tyrant had been using the tunnels for his experiments. It became more apparent, that he had formed some agreement with an unknown entity which had been watchin the Clan from beyond the veil, the trio escaped as something began to screech within the chamber.
As the season shifts, and unanswered questions remain, it becomes clear that something had shifted within the Valley.
Disturbances were being reported more commonly, strange red flowers were beginning to appear within the Whispering Fog through Eirmuirs lands and the sighting of a large.. yet calm canid in the distance only marked troubling times for the Clan.
November 2025, into May 2026 - Unwavering Terror
The revelation of the fall of a Fairy Fort wall was alarming to a degree in which the Ard-Ri could not even fathom, having quickly departed to witness it himself - the dread that filled the Chief was palpable. The Fort, held spirits connected to the Fade trapped and heralded by Cyaroeth the Harbinger of Death but something had failed him from reigning them in.
In turn, they had escaped and not only ill natured spirits but the darkness of the Valley which remained trapped in these pockets had also ventured out.
Which the realization that not only the Clan but the Valley itself was in danger, the Ard-Ri called a meeting to announce the first two members of his Chorus.
The Clan gathered, the announcement of Unyielding Marshal Hyde and High Tideripper Odhran were made. Some were shocked upon hearing the ex-Gaelkin, once close to Tyrant Shael had been made a core member of driving party for Eirmuir but no real disrupt was made. Afterwards, the party being brought down into the Tunnels once more to discover more secrets hidden by Shael was formed and the party began their Descent.
Twisted, manipulated forms of Valleyfolk were found in the tunnels - alive as corrupted beasts, considered to be alternative forms of the Withered. As the parties split, they discovered blooded pawprints seemingly pointing to signs of life within the tunnels beyond that of the beasts that lingered. Soon, an old face was found - Thistle, soon to declare himself a Sentry under Padraigs' reign. Having been dragged into the tunnels by Shael years prior, having escaped and found himself remaining alive by feeding on sea fish.
This moment, would lead the Clan to face their largest enemy within the Tunnels. Isolated Titan, or IT, as Thistle referred to the beast. The parties reconnected, and begun their fight to escape the tunnels.
At its throat, was a glowing.. magnetic crystal which reminded Ard-Ri Macgyver of the broken WIspstone in the Heart. Instructing Tideripper Siren to grab the stone, the remainder of the group distracted the beast - injuries ensued and as the stone was torn away, spirits appeared to help the Valleyfolk escape their doom. As the crystal structure around them began to cave in, they escaped to the sands.
Soon it became apparent that danger was afoot at the Heart, and the party was quick to return to it to aid their Clanmates.
June 2026, onwards - Regrowth of the Heart
The Clan were victorious against the known enity targetting the faction, however they were not without loss. Siobhan perished, protecting the Clan against Shatterfangs' continued assault before it returned to the ocean.
Yet there was some warmth felt within the Clan despite the tradgety that they had faced, the birth of the surprise litter of the Ard-Ri and Banrion.
Which brought the arrival of the Clans first Flaiths' (Diarmuid & Ferdia) and first Banfhlait (Caradoc) in two generations.
~~~~~~
This is commonly known information within the Clan.
War with Gaelkin is taught to future generations, remembering to not forget this conflict was created by Goldenwinds' desperation.
The previous Árd-Rí Padraig, was murdered outside of a fair dual by Tyrant Shael.
The Tyrant Shaels' power in Eirmuir was ended after Macgyver returned with a liberation fleet before he died dualling Macgyver (after attempting to flee.)
Initially, Macgyver was against the idea of becoming the next Árd-Rí but with the high approval of his Clanmates - he confidently accepted his role.
The Clans first Tidestar in two generations, Solune, born an outsider took her role alongside Macgyver.
NEW: The return of the great Seabeast, Shatterfang has remained his haunting of Eirmuirs waters.
The Seahearts' Wispstone, which is said to cause the protectiveness of the Clans' Ogham Stones has been humming louder of late.. is something reaching out to the Clan?
High King Padraig - Predecessor of Ard-Ri Macgyver
He/Him | Deceased, murdered - with the Eternal Hunt.
Ard-Ri Padraig, reigned for less than two years before he was slain by Tyrant Shael at barely 4 years. His leadership much like Macgyvers was initially filled with doubt due to his young age, but the Eirmuirian held wisdom far beyond his years and brought Eirmuir far in the small time that he held leadership.
His death, or more commonly agreed, murder still shocks the Clan to this day. His kindness and welcoming heart was in the end, his downfall. Having welcomed Shael into the Clan himself, having found him at the edge of the Clans territory seemingly alone - but it was an act. Being that Shael had others waiting to invade the Clans territory to overrun their defenses, leaving Padraig but no option but to dual Shael.
But this too, was not in fairness. As he prepared to fight Shael, one of the Tyrants' counterparts knocked the King from his paws, pinned and in turn was felled. But it was not swift, Padraig put up an overwhelmingly long fight and succumbed to blood loss.
His Winghook, Tiarnán, a small but hardy Magpie was heard to have screeched something guttural when Padraig died. Part of the Winghooks soul dying with the King, before vanishing into the grey skies and was not seen until the return of Macgyvers own Winghook, Ghost.
The bird seemed to still look for his own Ard-Ri, despite knowing he was dead.
Tyrant Shael - The False King
He/Him | Deceased, slain by Macgyver & Odhran
The day that Shael appeared at Eirmuirs borders, changed the tradjectory of the Clan forever. The grimy beast was welcomed into the Clan by their prior Ard-Ri with kindness, which unfortunately was used against the High King and in turn resulted in his murder.
Tyrant Shael was no kind soul, hence his title. Having starved the Clan with the help of those within his close circle, one being his second in command Odhrán. The Clan struggled under his reign for three years, in which the Clans' numbers dwindle in an alarming rate. Fallen from well over forty strong, to that of a low starved ten by the time that his reign was sentenced to its end by that of Seastone Marshal Macgyver.
The fight forced weakened Clan members to remain out of the fight, at Macgyvers command. The pair fought, but quickly it was clear that the Tyrant, though taller than Macgyver, was not fit for this fight. His leadership only reigned due to continued destruction of the Clan, continued starvation and control. It was clear to all that Shael would fail in winning this fight.
In a shock event, as the liberation fleet led by Macgyver fought against Tyrant Shael and his lackies watched as the Tyrant himself fled. Quickly followed by Macgyver, who in turn was tailed by Odhran - a Valleyfolk that the Marshal remembered greatly, for he caused the deep burning scars that inflicted the beasts flesh. But in another shocking turn, Odhran helped corner and bring death to Shael. Many of Shaels' most trusted were dead, killed by Solune and other liberation members but those who did not fall - fled themselves, returning outside of the borders where they were chased.
